Christmas was great! This is the first year that Abbey was really into it and it was so much fun (and Scott and I really like the whole Santa-as-a-bribe-for-good-behavior thing, hehe). We had a wonderful time carrying on the family tradition of the moving reindeer, and convinced Abbey that her two life-sized stuffed deer, Cupid and Rudolph, moved around the house as she slept at night or went to preschool. It was so fun to see her wake up and eagerly check to see if her deer ate the oats she left out the night before.
We had my family here for Christmas this year--a total of 11 of us. It was great fun and I hope it becomes a tradition for my Aunt, Uncle and cousins to come along with my parents each year. Perhaps the highlight of the holiday was that we opened the envelope containing the gender of our baby. We've had this envelope in our pantry since the 20-week ultrasound in October, and it took a lot of will power on Scott's part not to open it early! But we're so glad we waited, as finding out the gender on Christmas morning was the best present ever. We got up before everyone else and opened it in bed, just the three of us. Although a healthy baby is all we wanted, we are thrilled to be having a SON in early March. Now we just have to learn how to go from Princesses all day every day to snails and puppy dog tails. :)

i cannot tell you how fricking excited i am. little boys are AWESOME!!!!! of course, i say the same thing about little girls. geez. they are all great, aren't they??
