Where else can you spend Thanksgiving morning on the beach than in South Florida? Although the water was a little too chilly for me, Abbey had a great time splashing in the waves with her grandma and daddy and building sand castles with her Auntie Carrie and cousin Ananda. What a great trip...although too short!
My Aunt Tina and Uncle Jon hosted yet another fabulous Thanksgiving feast with a whopping 22 people...all of them family! Good Lord, we're a fertile bunch! Abbey had a great time playing with all of her cousins, and Scott and I enjoyed the time off, hehe.
As usual, Abbey was a good girl on the plane, but I think the novelty of flying has definitely worn off for our little frequent flier. Thank heavens for the new nonstop between Austin and Fort Lauderdale (although you haven't really lived until you've taken a preschooler to potty in an airplane bathroom at 6 months pregnant).
Christmas is in full swing here in Austin. We returned from Miami on Friday and went with some friends to cut down a Christmas tree on Sunday. Here's the drawback to cutting down a tree in the forest...you can't tell how big the damn thing really is! Of course it looks small in the forest. It looks a whole lot less small in our living room. Oh well. It was all about the expereince, which was really fun, despite the cold and rainy weather. I'm so proud of my H for chopping down a tree and making it 50 miles home with the thing tied (somewhat loosely) tied to the roof of our car. Yes, we are the Griswolds. :)
