What is heaven? Heaven, to me, is the following:
--Three days of rainy, cold weather, spent inside with your loved ones. Lots of sleep (yes, even with 2 kids!), games and movies (ok, most of them were Barbie movies, but it was still nice to snuggle up).
--Indulging in the kind of food that you're only allowed to eat when the weather is cold and rainy. Pizza on Friday night, Chili dogs and sweet potato fries on Saturday night, and homemade tomato basil soup on Sunday night. Granted, the "chili dogs" were all beef kosher and the chili was organic lentil bean, but I guess that caring about your body comes with age. :)
--Getting up at 6:45 to feed your baby and having him fall back to sleep with you until 10:20!!! There are few things better than snuggling under a nice warm duvet with your baby when the bedroom is chilly and rain is splattering the windows. Especially when said baby is not a great sleeper anyway.
--Watching your daughter and husband perform a Hannah Montana concert in the living room, complete with Hannah Montana wig (which was worn for the better part of the weekend). There's nothing like hearing a 4-year-old belt out a made up song into a microphone that is really a turkey baster covered in foil.
--Having lunch at your favorite burger joint and heading to the pumpkin patch, where you are the only patrons b/c it is 57 degrees and raining. Watching your kids drink in the Halloween decor and yards of pumpkins.
Those things are heaven. It happens so rarely that you get three whole days of this kind of bliss, or that you have time to stop and enjoy it. I thought I'd write it down and show the photos to prove it before my kids start crying again and I'm back to sleep deprivation. :)
