Dancing Through Her Tears

Abbey had her dance recital last weekend. As Scott put it, our $600 worth of lessons this year were put to the test. As you can see in the above photo, she was very excited before the recital. Oh, there was dancing and prancing and posing in the front yard. Good times.

However, you'll note in the group photo of Abs and her class on stage that she is crying (last one on the right). And yelling "mommy!" And waving her arms and turning red. Amazingly, Curren cried less than his sister did throughout the whole ordeal. Poor Abbey. She was so upset that she didn't even dance in the tap number or the finale. We had to really coax her just to participate in the awards ceremony. Good thing she received a medal or there would have been hell to pay. She did, however, perform the recital for us at a restaurant (full of strangers) after the recital. Go figure.

And, as you can see, the novelty of having a baby brother still has not worn off. He's still "the best baby in the world" as far as we can tell. :)
