Curren Flies and Fishes

As you can see, we had a great time at the Burleson lake house this past weekend. Yes, Curren really is flying that high in the air; it is not a trick of photoshop (I was busy terrifying my friend Heather on the jet ski when this was taken, or I probably would have put the kibosh on the baby tossing). If you look closely, he is smiling! He loved it! Our little sensory seeker. :)

We were also able to fish a bit, and Scott managed to help Abbey catch a perch and also caught one for Curren. Abbey squealed in delight, but didn't want to go near her fish. Curren, on the other hand, squeezed his fish. That is the difference between girls and boys I guess.

And of course, the adults had a little fun too. Thanks to some good old Aggie ingenuity, we were able to float our chips and dip right off the dock during cocktail hour. Plus, I learned how to walk on water (above)! Just kidding, it was a rope swing. Note, none of the kids did the rope swing, but the rest of us did it about 100 times.

From the pics above, you would never know that our little boy was rushed by ambulance from the ER at Seton Hospital to Dell Children's during the wee hours of Labor Day. Apparently he has asthma, which was triggered by either a small head cold or allergies. We've been doing breathing treatments every 4 hours (fun stuff...he hates it!), but we finally got the clear from the doctor today to cut back to twice a day. We will have to be extra vigilant about him, as she said that allergies and colds will likely cause wheezing and breathing difficulties from now on. As if his peanut allergy isn't enough! Our poor little bubble boy. :)

The good news is that he obviously maintains his good spirits even when he feels less than great (see photo above). In fact, this is why I waited so long to bring him to the ER. Our pediatrician recommended that I get a stethescope to listen to his lungs, since he won't really slow down when he is sick. Case in point, he was tearing the doctor's office apart last week, but only had a blood-oxygen level of 92 (which was a borderline trip back to the hospital). He is a stud!

Abbey continues to enjoy kindergarten, which makes life so much easier for the rest of us. I'm pretty sure kindergarten is the best thing that has happened to this family in a long time!
